Selective Soldering / Wave Soldering Engineer

Responsibilities (in order of workflow or workload):

1. Perform daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance of wave soldering, selective soldering and auxiliary equipment for automotive electronic products. (Primary duty: diagnose and efficiently resolve mechanical, electrical and control system failures of wave/selective soldering equipment to restore production.)

2. Manage spare parts: statistics, administration and purchase requests.

3. Evaluate technical requirements for newly introduced soldering equipment; handle equipment selection, introduction and acceptance; prepare and archive technical documents and standard operating procedures.

4. Analyze soldering defects (cold joints, bridging, insufficient solder, missed joints, poor solder joints, etc.) and define improvement measures.

5. Optimize soldering profiles to improve soldering yield.

6. Manage wave-soldering consumables and reduce consumable costs.

7. Drive lean improvement of soldering equipment, raise efficiency and achieve equipment performance targets.

8. Other assigned tasks and periodic equipment performance reports.

Qualifications:

General:

Age 24-37;

Open to all genders;

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred; outstanding candidates with an Associate degree considered. Mechatronics, Electrical or Industrial Engineering majors preferred.

Skills:

1. 3+ years of equipment experience in automotive electronics/manufacturing.

2. Familiar with the IATF 16949 system; understanding of CPK, MSA, MTTR, MTBR and related tools; familiar with the IPC-610 standard; able to analyze problems using QC 7 tools and 8D methodology; Six Sigma training is a plus.

3. Familiar with ERSA equipment operation and maintenance; proficient in profile parameter tuning and optimization; understanding of profiling software.

4. Cooperative, positive attitude and team spirit.

5. Willing to work overtime and rotating night shifts.
