Responsibilities (in order of workflow or workload):

1. Process documentation

Own process planning for new products; lead process route design and reviews; prepare process flow charts, PFMEA and special characteristics lists;

Prepare and maintain work instructions and key-process parameter lists for production

Build the process system and write and maintain system documents

Define rework processes and prepare rework work instructions

2. Customer audits

Handle customer audit requirements, rectify audit findings and prepare PPAP documentation

3. Production issue analysis and process optimization

Analyze production and customer-complaint issues; resolve process abnormalities, quality defects and equipment failures in production (e.g. soldering defects, component damage, firmware flashing failures, functional test NG)

Lead root cause analysis (5-Why, 8D, fishbone diagrams), implement and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and close the loop

Drive process optimization via 5M1E (man, machine, material, method, environment, measurement) improvements to raise first-pass yield, cut production costs and shorten cycle time

4. Fixture and tooling development

Design and introduce tooling, test fixtures and automation solutions for production; define technical requirements and follow up acceptance and optimization

5. Process parameter validation

Establish and monitor key process parameters (CPK) to keep production stable and under control; run DOE validation on key parameters and continuously optimize

Lead implementation and validation of process changes (ECR/ECN)

Plan and execute reliability-related process validation: cross-sectioning, red-ink testing, vibration, drop and conformal-coating verification, etc.

6. Introduction of new processes, materials and equipment

Research and evaluate advanced manufacturing processes for the BMS industry (e.g. selective soldering, laser welding, AOI upgrades)

Evaluate and validate the process feasibility of new materials (new adhesives, thermal interface materials, connectors)

Participate in production equipment selection, installation, commissioning, acceptance and subsequent performance improvement

7. Special improvement projects

Drive improvements for production and quality abnormalities and production efficiency
